We're Open!

Sunshine, smiles and little feet walk into the new 15,000 sq. foot school building that is beautifully painted in cheerful colors, and has been a project in the making for the past 4 years. Exciting!

We are in the building and we have raised 50% of our goal, but we are not finished raising money. We have about $1 million dollars still to raise and many opportunities to go along with it. When we retire our mortgage we’ll be able to offer more programs and services for the children.

Why Donate? Why Now?
Sceic is seen as a role model for our region in child development and inclusive environments. It is vitally important to provide a place for others to learn how the holistic needs of children can be the highest priority. There are no center-based services for children under three in the State of Florida. By 2010, 83% of preschool children with disabilities must find programs outside of the school system. At SCEIC, one can come and see the endless possibilities in providing quality experiences for children in one setting. We have a “garden” of children in one location that require an array of successful supports and instruction. When one enters our new doors they will encounter:

  • Multiple supports for early literacy development, flexible to accommodate learners from 2 months to 8 years in developmental levels.
  • Sensory integration experiences imbedded through out the instructional day.
  • Augmentative communication and technology infused throughout the day
  • Best practice of in-class model therapies for applied behavioral analysis physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language therapy
  • Best practice model of adult/child ratio
  • Use of assistive technology to maximize learning opportunities for children with special learning needs.
  • Model playground that has no barriers to play-our Boundless Playground. This is an outdoor environment designed to support the physical and social needs for children up to 8 years of age.
  • Exceptionalities in children including Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism spectrum, developmental delays (including motor, language, behavior and cognitive) various other syndromes and health impairments.
