Lead Teacher
Ashlee Auchter
Ms. Ashlee has been employed at SCEIC since 2006. Her love of teaching started at an early age. By the time she was 13, she was already babysitting for friends and family. She enjoyed putting together reading activities and art projects for the children she watched.
When Ashlee entered high school, she took Early Childhood Education classes and got her first teaching job at the age of 17. Ashlee has a Child Development Credential (CDA), is VPK certified and is curently attending college, working towards an associates degree in Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Ashlee finds teaching an enjoyable field because there is always something new to try and learn. She strives to stay up-to-date on the latest research and teaching methods so she can incorpoate them into her classroom. Ashlee recognizes that learning is more than just abc’s and colors. She says, “A strong focus on social skills is essential for students. It is a building block for all learning”.
Teaching Assistants
Melissa Fleetwood
Melissa’s love for children brought her to the childcare field in 2001. She has been with SCEIC since 2003, serving as both a teaching assistant and a Lead Teacher in our part-time parent participation program. She holds a Florida Childcare Professional Credential (FCCPC) and is VPK certified. The biggest reward in working at SCEIC seeing students make leaps and bounds. “It is an amazing feeling to be able to share in those moments when a child says their first word, makes eye contact or reaches a goal you have been striving for, ” says Melissa.
Melissa works with the rest of the VPK team to help prepare students for kindergarten and beyond. “I want to make sure each student is ready and fully prepared to meet the challenges that come with moving into a kindergarten classroom.”
Tina Dizzini
Tina has been working with kids ever since she graduated high school. In addition to her 40 hour credentialing, she holds a CDA (Child Development Credential), Director’s Credential and is VPK certified. Tina enjoys working with children because she says it provides an opportunity to make a difference in their lives. In the afternoons, Tina works in after-care as a supervisor.
“There is never one day that is like another.” Spending your day working with kids means lots of laughter! Tina enjoys the sense of pride that occurs when a child she has been working with accomplishes a task or moves up to a new stage of development.
