Meet the Staff

Lead Teacher

Bethany Wright

Ms. Beth has a Child Development Credential (CDA) and has more than 10 years of teaching experience. In Beth’s class, if the kids are laughing and staying interested, then Beth is having fun too!

Beth started her career by teaching 3 and 4s, but a few years ago when an opening came up in the toddler room, she thought she would give it a try. She loved it and has been teaching the younger students ever since.

At this age, students are learning to explore their environment and that opens up lots of learning opportunities. Hands-on activities are an important part of the day. Children at this age have gained some independence and are naturally curious about the world around them. Beth says, “Everyday is something new. I get to teach the most amazing kids, and they teach me as well.”

Teaching Assistants

Lauren Taylor
Lauren has been working at SCEIC since 2006.  She has an AA from Brevard Community College, a CDA certification and is working towards her Bachelors in Communicative Sciences and Disorders and has plans to attend nursing school.

Lauren began working with kids at Palm Bay High School when she signed up for the Early Childhood Education Program.  She says, “Kids never cease to amaze me with their stories.  Watching them grow is one of the neatest things to experience.”  Lauren currently works in the 2 to 3 year old toddler room, where she gets to enjoy watching children grow every day.

Sandra Hewitt

Sandra joined the SCEIC team in the summer of 2011, but she is no stranger to the child care field.  She has over 20 years experience working with children.  She is well suited to working in aftercare because it gives her the opportunity to work with a wide range of students in various stages of development.  “Seeing children grow and develop over time is very rewarding”
