Our Program: OVERVIEW

We offer an array of programs options that include:
  1. Full Inclusion Pre-school Classes – Five days – 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with 3 different pick- up times
    1. Toddler 1 Room – age 13 month to 30 month
    2. Toddler 2 Room – age 2 to 3 years
    3. Pre-K 3 Room – ages 3 to 4 years
    4. VPK 4 & 5 Rooms – (2) classrooms with ages 4 & 5 years in our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program
  2. Early Experiences: This is a part – time, three days a week parent participation program designed to offer socialization and instruction/interventions to 18 months to 34 months age children. Monitored by an early interventionist and run day-to-day by our Infant-Toddler Development Specialist, the classes teach developmentally appropriate skills for children, facilitate expanding social skills, and offers general knowledge for the parent. This unique program offers the opportunity for the parent to take 2 days out of the classroom to introduce independence and separation for their child. Classes run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  3. Early Experiences 2 & 3: This is a part – time, two day a week program designed to offer socialization, instruction, and interventions to 3 to 4 year old children. Taught by an elementary school teacher, the class focuses on developmentally appropriate milestones, facilitating expanding social skills along with general pre-school organizational, verbal, and direction taking skills. This program does not require parent participation, but parents are encouraged to stay if they want to learn more about working with their child at home. Classes run Thursday and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  4. Mommy and Me/Daddy and Me: This is a one day a week experience for parents to participate with their child in our pre-school morning classroom. Parent and child participate in all activities. Only available for 13 months to three-year-old children and parents. Available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  5. SCEIC Boundless Weekends on the Playground: Partially covered to protect from the sun and rain, our playground is open on weekends to the general public. The playground is handicap accessible and is appropriate for children ages 13 months to 10 years. Approximately 4,000 people visit the school yearly on the weekends to enjoy and play. Open Saturday and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The playground is also available for birthday parties Saturday or Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or afternoons 1:00p-3:30p for a donation of $35.00.
  6. Afterschool 3 to 6 Mix: Offered to elementary age children, this is SCEIC’s afterschool inclusive childcare program for children with disabilities and typically developing children. The program is offered from 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We also have THE DAILY DROP IN for days the public schools are closed. Parents can register ahead of time so their child can attend the whole day.
  7. Handwriting Without Tears: Certified teachers instruct this afterschool program to pre-school and school aged children on learning how to write and enjoying it.
  8. Weekend Respite: Every other Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (twice a month) parents can get away for only $10.00, knowing their children are well taken care of. Overseen and run by a speech pathologist experienced with children with disabilities, this program can accommodate up to 15 children.
  9. Kindergarten and Beyond: This is our summer program that starts the week after public schools close and runs until the Friday before public schools reopen. This is a full summer program from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Friday designed to provide schedule consistency and routine for all children. Appropriate for ages 5 through 8.
  10. Social Events Building Opportunities - Social interaction is vital to building relationships and learning cues to appropriately maneuver through society today. Monthly events throughout the year are scheduled to facilitate opportunities for young and old to gather and enjoy a meeting or special event.
