How We Keep Your Children Safe

At SCEIC, we appreciate that you are leaving your most prized possessions with us to care and nurture. We take that responsibility seriously.  Here are some of the steps we take to ensure the safety and well-being of all children:

Fingerprinting and background checks are performed on all employees, as well as volunteers who work over 10 hours a month

A security camera records both the front and side doors so we know who enters and leaves the building day and night

Our facility is equipped with a state-of–the-art fingerprint identification system which is used to check children in and out of the building

Classroom staff is trained and certified in CPR and First Aid

All classrooms have observation windows

Parents and guardians may come and observe the classroom at any time without prior notice

Fire drills are practiced monthly so teachers, staff and students are prepared in case of a real emergency

Fire extinguishers are located throughout the building

A fire-suppression sprinkler system is installed throughout the building

All side exits are equipped with alarms to alert us in the event that someone tries to exit and enter the building

All interior doors are kept shut during operating hours

We have a disaster plan which includes a lock-down procedure and evacuation plan in the event of a sudden unexpected emergency
