Mini Volcanoes
The following activity is ideal for preschoolers ages 3 to 4. It teaches children to learn and understand that chemicals have basic reactions when combined. You can share this fun and easy at-home science experiment with your child. All you will need is:
- small bowl
- tray
- one tablespoon baking soda
- one tablespoon vinegar
- food coloring
Set a small bowl on a tray. Place a tablespoon of baking soda into the bowl, add a tablespoon of white vinegar– for more drama- add a few drops of food coloring to the vinegar before adding. Be sure to take a minute and let your child smell the vinegar!
Once you add the vinegar you can sit back and observe the mixture bubble and fizz. And that’s science!
