Cycle Jam for the Kids Brevard County, Florida

2017 Cycle Jam

Cycle Jam LogoSpace Coast Early Intervention Center (SCEIC) invites you to participate in the Annual Cycle Jam for the Kids, a non-competitive ride through scenic Brevard County.  Beautiful Central Florida weather, great food, and full SAG support is provided by experienced ride organizers.  Our riders come back year after year to feel good and do good.  All proceeds benefit SCEIC, a preschool that specializes in preparing children with and without disabilities for kindergarten and beyond.  Special needs students with diagnosis such as Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, speech, hearing or vision impairments receive instruction and therapy in  fully inclusive programs with their typically developing peers. When you sponsor, ride or raise funds for Cycle Jam for the Kids, you are ensuring that Brevard continues to have a preschool where every child can learn and grow!

 Bike Safety

SCEIC is committed to promoting Bike Safety.  All riders will obey Florida Rules of the Road.  Of course, the rule stands: no helmet, no ride.  Headphones are prohibited.  For the safety and welfare of all riders, children under 16 years of age may ride in the Half Century or Family Fun Ride.  Anyone under 18 must be accompanied on the ride by an adult guardian over the age of 21.

Our Family Fun Ride encourages families to ride together.  This escorted ride is great for families with young children.  Children too young to ride a 20” bike may be pulled in bike trailers or put in child carriers.  Minors aged 16 and under are half price with a paying adult.

Start and Finish

Cycle Jam for the kids will begin and end at Space Coast Field of Dreams, 3053 Fell Road, Melbourne.  Registration opens at 6:00 am.  The ride will take place rain or shine, and the organizers reserve the right to delay, alter start times or course routes in the event of inclement weather on ride day.  Check the SCEIC website for updates as the day approaches.  The course will close at 4:00 pm, which means you have 6 hours to complete the course.   A rover vehicle will trail the ride markers, and riders may choose to get a ride back, or they may continue riding outside of the event and without support.
