- Welcome
When you walk through the doors of Space Coast Early Intervention Center, you might notice the cheerful administration, the brightly-painted walls, or children skipping to their classroom in anticipation of a new school day; but that’s just scratching the surface. With over thirty years in the books, Space Coast Early Intervention Center has made a name as one of the most forward-thinking schools in Brevard County, with countless success stories from students and parents alike.
Our approach to education starts with an individual, not a pre-set curriculum. We aim to encourage the strengths of each child, while building up their weaknesses. So if we see that your child excels in art, we might study Monet’s work and then use impressionist techniques to create a landscape painting. If she struggles in math, we might use counting beads and pipe cleaners to obtain mastery in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming. Our well-trained teachers and low student-teacher ratios make this possible. We find that most students, even those who come in discouraged and ready to give up, not only find their place, but excel here.

A lot happens in a year. From welcoming new students, to hitting milestones, to developing more effective strategies.
We know that the success of each child isn’t solely dependent upon the teachers or administration. That’s why we take a community approach to learning—partnering with parents to spark hope, answer questions, and provide resources for learning outside the classroom. Because while we are educators, many of us are also parents; and at the end of the day, we all just want what’s best for our kids.
In fact, Space Coast Early Intervention Center was founded by Betsy Farmer, a mother who wanted to provide what no other school could for her son. We haven’t side-stepped from that foundation since we first began. Combining state-of-the-art technology with innovative teaching strategies and an environment bustling with creative energy, our inclusive classrooms provide not only academic, but social skills needed in today’s diverse world. We believe that kindness is its own kind of language; that empathy can be formed alongside literacy; and that teamwork is another lesson in social studies.
If you’re looking for a school that aims for the well-rounded development of each child and advocates for the best education possible (regardless of the challenge), you’ve come to the right place. We’re so glad you’re here!

Tim Wakefield - Director Emeritus - Former Pitcher, Boston Red Sox
I'm blessed and privileged to have witnessed amazing changes in the lives and families at SCEIC.
As a high school student, Tim Wakefield took advantage of the opportunity to volunteer at Space Coast Early Intervention Center. He was so amazed at the services they provided to their students that he made a commitment to the founder, Betsy Farmer, that when he made it big in baseball, he would come back and support the school. He held to that commitment, and for twenty-five years, has sponsored the Annual Tim Wakefield Celebrity Weekend, which raised funds to support the school. He is now a sponsor of our Jam for the Kids annual event. Wakefield feels privileged to have witnessed amazing changes in the lives of the families of SCEIC, and is blessed to continue to lend his support to our school.
We continually recruit qualified teachers & substitutes.
